Sound Ocean Metal Fabricators, Ltd. is the industry leader in the design, fabrication and installation of longliner vessel processing factories. This includes vessels from 78’ long to over 150’ long. These factories are typically tight on space and require working with the customer to develop the layout flow that is efficient for their particular vessel. SOMF works closely with the other vendors, longlining fishing equipment and refrigeration, to assure all aspects of the vessel’s equipment mesh and perform properly. SOMF designs and installations take particular care to minimize bruising the fish, an inherent longline industry problem.
